Gregg earns first collegiate win as Red Raiders finish third at OFCC

Gregg finished at 13-under 197 after carding rounds of 65-64-68 to tie for the individual title. The victory comes just days after Gregg recorded the best individual finish of his career at the Inverness Intercollegiate, where he finished runner-up.
The Red Raiders closed the tournament at 37-under 803 after shooting a 12-under 268 in the final round. Texas Tech finished one stroke behind No. 12 Illinois (802) and three strokes behind No. 4 Arizona State, which won the team title at 40-under 800.
The tournament concluded a day earlier than originally scheduled due to poor weather throughout the weekend. Texas Tech was able to complete its 36 holes Friday, while a few teams had to resume the second round Saturday morning. Texas Tech and the rest of the field then teed off the final round with a 12:45 p.m. shotgun start to wrap up the event.
Gregg entered the final round with a one-stroke lead at 11-under after opening the tournament with rounds of 65 and 64. He closed with a 2-under 68 to finish at 13-under 197 and tie for the individual title.
Adam Bresnu also closed with a strong final round, firing a 6-under 64 to climb into a tie for sixth at 10-under 200. Bresnu finished his tournament with rounds of 70-66-64 and was one of four Red Raiders to finish under par in the final round.
Simon Hovdal carded a 3-under 67 in the final round to finish tied for 31st at 5-under 205, while Connor Graham finished tied for 36th at 4-under 206 after a final-round 3-over 73. Tim Wiedemeyer rounded out the Red Raider lineup at 3-under 207 after shooting 1-under 69 Saturday to finish tied for 44th.
The Red Raiders will follow this weekend’s tournament by playing at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Sept. 28-29 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth before completing their fall schedule at the Big 12 Match Play Oct. 12-13 at the Salt Lake City Country Club in Salt Lake City, Utah.
